Self-Enrichment Workshop - June 2024

after Witnessing breathtaking savanna sunrises and bronze, brushed sunsets, i led a self-empowerment workshop for 100+ inspiring women, mothers of children with disabilities, at Café Ubuntu.

this trek took me outside of the metropolis of Nairobi on multi-day, off-road jeep ride to the warm and welcoming village of Maai Mahiu. this was the furthest i had even been from home, without my mom. slightly nervous, but with one of my favorite volunteers, who has become like a big sister traveling by my side, she reminded me how much we were about to inspire other women.

with confidence kits in hand, we met the working mothers who were excited to show us the textiles they were sewing and explain how they help provide income for their children, before i shared the mission and vision behind gba. the conversations created unforgettable moments. we Experienced kenya's vibrant energy and the incredible warmth of the Kenyan people. A cherished journey of connection and empowerment.

my journey to Café Ubuntu warmed the hearts of incredible women artisans, just as much as they warmed mine. Imagine vibrant workshops amidst the sewing machines, sparking joy and self-belief.

From breathtaking savanna views to heartfelt connections, this adventure showed me i am braver and stronger than i ever knew. one more successful glow gathering celebrating the power of women supporting women. A truly radiant experience!
